Inouva denied pay for day of training - terminated after 16 hrs of work based on a metrics scripting game plus charged for the entry card to be able to work and the headset

Beware in these hard economic times of accepting work from the Contact Centers of America, which I found on Craigs list - they give you a 2.5 hour computer test, inclusive of word association, number sequences and geometry leading you to think you will never pass - then they hire you on the spot (I ws there on a thursday) - they told me to come for training from 9-5 on Jan 31st. There were reallly shady things going on from onset. If you actually look up Contact Centers of America, it appears to be a really good company that is bringing back call center jobs to America. Not so - training actually ended about 4:45 but when it first started, the trainer told us we would not be paid for the first hour because we were only filling out paperwork??? Then they told me to come in on Wed the 2nd of Feb from 5-9 and Sat from 5 -9. Do not ask me why the 2.5 test (this is a scripted positon)- When I arrived Saturday, all the doors were locked, and had it not been that my spouse had driven me and i used his cell phone, I would have been terminated then as a no call, no show. That Saturday, I informed sup there were no schedules up for new Hires - he told me to come in on Monday 5-9 - before I did this I confirmed with the night time sup on Monday - she then told me to come back on Wed 5-9. Another very interesting point, I have been working since age 16 and have worked for the likes of Bowery Savings Bank, NY who bonds its employees, JP Morgan Chase, Verizon Wireless... This is the first company that dictates you can have nothing on your desk - no pen, no pencil, no paper unless job aid, no purse in your desk drawer and the list goes on and on... Thursday the 10th, I repeatedly called to find out when i should go in next. I had been told on WEd, that i would be sitting w someone for awhile because my numbers were at 378 in points and they wanted them to be at 450 - the supervisor said it was really not that bad.

However, the one time I called and left mssg with sup, she called me back, laid her phone on the desk and I listened to her conversation for about 15 min and finally called bk on my cellular phone to tell her to release my line.

Then she called back and did exactly the same thing - then I calleld the exact same number and all of a sudden completely different vmail from a diffrnt person - 10 min late, my husband got a call on his cllr phone stating they were trying to reach me but my number was disc. I was informed by Maria of Hr that not Contact Centers of America but the company that hired them (Babystobee) (this is a whole other story - please moms to be google this company before you register or take any phone calls) had terminated me eff 2/10, that i was eligible for re-hire if they were not selling anything (keep in mind, babystobee is supposed to be giving things away to moms, not selling). I got my check today for 16.76 hours along with a 34.00 deduction for the headset and key card that I needed to do my job. I called and was advised they would re-imburse for the 34.00 as soon as I brought in but "don't I remember they told us in training if we did not stay for a full two weeks, we would not be paid for training?" Maria then emailed me that I would not be paid for training because a full two weeks would have been 2/14 and i was termed on 2/10 - I promptly called the wage and hour division. It ws not my choice to not remain there until 2/14 and I hardly think 16 hrs of work is adequate to decipher if a job is a good fit or not in a numbers game... And when a Mom is calling for her free baby stuff, why are we asking her if anyone she knows has diabetes or chronic fatigue or can we send her a travel brochure for new orleans for her next trip??? Actually, I would have hu on the Disney Movie Club which is about the 4th offer as I do not know of too many babys that would enjoy it. I did further research on this company - it is privately owned by one man in Orlando - yet first sentance of script reads Babytobee is a publicly traded company and for protection of customers and shareholders call will be recorded. I urge you to google Babytobee because if anyone were a shareholder, they definitely did not graduate from any legitimate school - Contact Centers of America Maria was very quick after the phone call to send me an immediate email that I would not be paid for training of Jan 31 but she did not respond at all when I advised her I contacted the wage and labor division. They advised me to return headset and key card and get a receiipt of re imbursment and if they refused to keep and they would handle that as well... I am n ot looking forward to re-entering that environment without a body guard. Please, stay away from this company. Especially if you are honest - telemarketing is bad enuf but to start duping moms to be and new moms is down right a job for someone with no morals.
