I was looking for a position at home, I currently have been working for several companies at home but one is not bringing in enough money to buy postage stamps and that company is written up on here as well.
I found Independent Wireless on my States's Job Board. It looked legitimate and I emailed them a resume and filled out the job application. I should have known better but got a pretty quick response on my wonderful and impressive background, etc.
It then asked for an $85. Check to be done online immediately to pay for a special headset. That kind of sent up a warning flag, because I work for a teleservices company that currently routes calls to my home and no special headset is required. I also have a degree in Information Systems/Computer Science and know that this is usually not necessary.
At that point I tried to call the number I was given, toll free, that number was not right and it routed me to call another number which in turn sent me to yet a third toll free number. I left several messages with the HR Department and sent them emails as well. I wanted more of a descripton, etc. Of the position. I finally hit the number when I called back again, to order the wireless service. Again, I was put into a que and was told I was first in the que yet it took someone about five or ten minutes to answer the phone.
When I got a rep on the phone she stated that they were in training or some excuse and would be available in about an hour. She also told me a line which I have heard many times about paying money to work. If you worked for UPS you would have to pay for uniforms, etc. I told her my husband was a courier with another company and was never required to buy uniforms, and I was concerned this was a scam, she was a bit rude and claimed she was working for them. Yet it took her ten minutes to pick up the phone? She was apparently working from home and had no idea where or what the HR department was doing so she lied as well.
I have yet, two weeks later to have my phone calls or emails returned or answered. DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, THIS IS A RIP OFF.
I spoke to a good friend and she said she had dealt with a similiar scam and lost money. This is not a legimiate company, nor are these legitimate jobs. They are trying to get your money, and you will never hear from them again. You do not have to pay to get a legitimate job, under any circumstances.
I work for a company that did not charge me for anything, programs, training, nothing. Though I do enjoy working for them I would like to find an additional job to bring more money in, the hours sometimes that I get are limited, but the company is legitimate. This one is not, stay away.
