I worked for this company about a year ago at one of their fund raising offices in Modesto California and was recently rehired. The only reason I went back to this company is that Modesto that has one of the worst employment rates in America.
I was terminated for having a bad sales record, the managers and people working at my specific call center were all pretty good people but it's quite apparent that the higher up managers and people running their HR center in New Jersey force them to do a lot of dirty stuff.
Whenever I was terminated I tried to file for unemployment benefits, I quickly realized that company I thought I was representing I wasn't actually working for, and also realized that the little call center I was working at was nothing but one of many call centers that belongs to CDG.
There was no way for us to contact Human Resources, when I called the front desk admin at my call center she said the only way to contact HR was through her email and she couldn't give me the address or the phone number, I tried calling all the numbers I could and they all were fund raising hotlines of other people who had no idea what was going on and I tried calling their so called "Corporate Office" it was nothing more than an answering service.
I nearly lost my unemployment benefits cause I pretty much had no information on this company because there was none available, not only were they keeping their company a secret from the people they were asking for donations from but also their employees.
The person who was working my unemployment case stuck his neck out for me and called the call center and pretty much demanded that they give him the information, which is the only reason why I collected benefits.
When I came back to work for the call center I was told by the call center manager that I would receive the original 12$ an hour I was making when I was terminated, however when I returned back I was started off at the training minimum wage, when I asked a manager about that he said something about when the company "re did itself" it wiped everything clean if that even makes any sense.
When I came onto this site to check and see if the company was listed I wasn't very suprised to see 18 reports of people who have been ripped off or mistreated by this company, they will take every dollar from you in every way possible including not paying you for the time when you're asked to log out and switch consoles.
Although I think it's great the company offers a lot of people jobs in my area, but I think employees who are making you 8-10x the rate of your pay in donations shouldn't be swindled for a couple of bucks whenever possible, and they should be willing to provide all their employees that aren't managers with HR and payroll information.
