My complaint to the Best Buy website:
I would like to start by saying that this is a complaint and will probably be a lengthy one. Unfortunately as I have already learned by the cockiness of your companies employees I should have known that Best Buy even believes they are to good to have a complaint section since I searched this whole site and did not see one. I have now settled on lodging my complaint here even though complaint/compliment was not an option in your "select a topic" category yet I had to choose something. I would like you to know that I am not usually one to complain since I also work this type of industry but after 4 years of this horrible place I now have to complain. The worst of this began in November when I visited your location "1486" in Hiram Ga. I was doing Christmas shopping and decided to buy myself and my husband new cell phones. The gentleman in the phone department did more talking about himself than really helping me but since he did tell me that he was the best in his department and he was going to be the next phone department manager I allowed him to pick out the accessories that WOULD WORK for my new phones. Needless to say NONE, not one, of the things I purchased worked. I also purchased a triple DVD collection in which I only received two movies in the case. So now I've had to return my phone accessories that did not work and again go back and exchange the DVD set (that was a gift for someone) after Christmas. So now to the current. A few days ago I said OK I'll lift my ban over Best Buy and try again. I again visited your location in Hiram Ga this time to purchase headphones for my husbands phone. A non phone department associate offered to help us, good start, then he led us to the dreaded phone section in which he said "let me see if someone over her can help you." Now, I admit I made a stink because I wouldn't want one of those phone associates to help me up if I fell on the floor and broke BOTH my legs. When I told the man I didn't want to speak with the phone department and then explained why he first said "maybe its time for new phones." First of all I just purchased these phones 8 months ago FROM YOUR STORE and second what give you the right to tell me what I should do? Then he proceeded to say "you know if it doesn't work you could bring it back." Why yes, I do know that. Every time I purchase something I have to bring it back and all I want is for it to work the first time. So now him and I are arguing, this is ridiculous, So he condescendingly says "well then I'll talk to him and tell you what he says" really? Last time I checked I wasn't def I can hear what he says. The point is I don't trust what hes saying. Again though I caved and said alright this is not the same gentleman that was here last time lets see what happens. So he TRIES to sell us an adapter for a headset since theirs not a headset that fits the outlet on the phone. However I just couldn't bring myself to buy it since NOTHING from Best Buy works and I didn't want to HAVE to come back and return it. So he took the time to open the package and test it, guess what? It didn't work. So once again if I had purchased it I would have got home and yet AGAIN had to go back and return it. However I went to radio shack, got the piece I needed and was out the door in less than 5 minutes but I did take the time to share with the cashier my experience with Best Buy and she informed me Best Buy is trying to buy Radio Shack. As a consumer I ask that you don't corrupt such a dependable company with your horrible policies and procedures. I would also like YOU to know that I am a manager for a restaurant and I don't mind telling everyone I meet just what I think of your company and the training or lack their of your employees possess. The sad part is that everyone I have told so far has also had a bad experience Best Buy story to tell. You may think that by my complaint I am just one person who WILL NOT return to Best Buy. I'm sure Circuit City and all those other fortune 500 companies that have close recently thought that about a customer at some point also. Unfortunately those companies are no longer in business and their once upon a time executives cant tell you about their one customer complaint that turned into more that turned into just a memory instead of a business.
