I purchased a Bluetooth headset which came with a rebate offer. I submitted the offer paperwork. I cut the UPC code out and stapled it to the receipt.
I received a postcard in the mail saying they did not receive a valid UPC. I brought the package back to the store where I purchased it. They said what I cut out was the only UPC on the package.
Since I could not get the rebate, I wanted to return the headset. The store manager told me he would reimburse me what I paid less the rebate since he did not know if I still had the UPC and could still get the rebate.
Not only did I pay $25 dollars more than I expected since I didn't get the rebate, but if I return the item, I lose $25.in addition to this, because it has been over 30 days since I purchased the headset, the manager told me I would only get store credit and not a refund.
I believe this is fraud. Is there anything I can do? I would like to return the item and get my money back, if possible. If not, is there an agency that I can report Radio Shack for fraudulant practices?
