I was contacted on the phone by a telemarketer from Capital Vacations about 5 days ago. He offered me a trial membership and told me I could keep a 3day and 2night free vacation (valid at any hotel for a year) after recieving and reviewing their information package that would come to me in the mail.
He said I would have 14 days to cancel if I would not like it and then my account would be charged. I was stupid enough to give him my account and card number over the phone (I am such an IDIOT, but I wanted to surprise my husband with a free vacation). A sum of $149 was taken out the next day (it appeared as "ACH HOLD TAN ON 10/28).
First I did not know what that was, but then I researched all the information I got from that company, got only answering machines and webpages that did not connect when trying to contact somebody, and then I found this page here... And found other people that were ripped off by the same company.
I will go to my bank tomorrow and try to put a hold on this "automatic withdrawal". DO NOT EVER GIVE OUT ACCOUNT INFORMATIONS OVER THE PHONE!!! LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!!!
If anyone wants to file a lawsuit against this company, please contact me via this website!!! I will be happy to testify!!!
Sincerely
