To whom it may concern,
I am having a terrible experience with the IRS.
I filled out my federal taxes on March 20th and sent them. They lost both the check and the 1040EZ form.
On April 10, I called the IRS office because my check was not cashed yet. They told me they lost the check so I sent another check.
On April 15th I checked my bank information to have the bad surprise to see that both checks were cash. So I call them again to have one of the amounts sent back to me.
Then they told me they have both checks, so they cash them both but they lost the 1040EZ form AGAIN. They told me they could not refund my money without the form. So, at their specific request I filled out a third 1040EZ form but this time electronically to be sure they got it.
I did this on May 30. Since then I have received nothing.
I was also asking for the economic stimulus payment ($600.00 for a single taxpayer). They told me they cannot complete this until they got my 1040EZ form.
They told me they were working on it because they received the electronic 1040EZ I sent them.
I called this morning and I get another person on the phone telling me that they are working on it but there is no date of when I will get my money.
When you owe them money they run after you and you have penalties and problems but when they owe us money we have to wait and they don't give a damn. I have been waiting for 5 months.
Every time I call I reach someone who cannot help. They do not know what they are talking about or what they are doing.
Is there any agency I can call who is able to contact the IRS for me to have my refund and the economic stimulus payment ASAP?
