We met with our consultant/salesman Dave S.in East Lansing Mi.in an un-furnished office and he assured us JK HARRIS would help with our tax debt and call him anytime for answers to any questions. We gave him a check for $1950.00 and signed the unread "CONTRACT" taking Dave S. At his word and that was a big mistake, we never heard from the guy again. We paid JK HARRIS $200.00 to open a file. We supplied them with reems of the info. They filled in the blanks on our 2005 1040ez's and State forms for $1000.00 fee and sent them to us, with our last names spelled wrong on every page. We were charged $750.00 to fill in the request form to reduce/eliminate $800.00 of penalties/interest that we don't even qualifiy for.
These so called specalists are NOT ATTORNEYS and THEY CAN'T SPEAK WITH THE IRS about your tax issues, they merely fill in IRS forms and send them back to you. They can't do anything you can't do. We called the IRS and in 10 minutes got a comfortable payment plan. We filed for a refund on the $750.00 ABATEMENT OF PENALTY REQUEST and will be hit with a prorated fee and a 25% Administrative fee by JK HARRIS. Time frame 120 days.
Fact: unless it was an act of god, riots or death for each and every year you will have to pay the interest and penalties.
Fact: example, if the irs reduces your $10,000 by 20% they will want the remaining $8,000 paid in full right now, that's why they will make a deal.
Fact: don't be afraid of the irs call them before they levy your assets.
