This has happened to me at least a half a dozen times. Ebay will allow a seller to remove an item if it is not getting the type of bids they want. They will not use the RESERVE. Isn't this what this is for? So, a seller can make sure that they get a certain price? But instead, Ebay allows sellers to just remove the item. Most of the time, it says there were no bids, when I know for a fact that I bid on the item, or I would not get an email stating it was a cancellation. What is Ebay's problem?
The latest happened with a identification name of fine-violin-express. I bid on the item, was sent a notification from them, stating that it was listed at the wrong size in case I wanted to retract my bid. I did not, and kept bidding. Then, all of a sudden, I get a cancellation from Ebay saying the item was cancelled. What a rip-off! Next thing, I look, and they changed it to read with a starting bid, or a Buy it Now for $395.00. The $395.00 was not even in the first listing. So, now the seller Rooftop Fiddler Fine Violins is banning me for reporting this to Ebay. LOL! What an scam! Ebay does nothing to these sellers. It happens all the time. Beware of fine-violin-express and rooftop fiddler fine violins.
