I was a victim of fraud by a dishonest seller on E-Bay. I won the bid on an item and was shipped something else. I filed a dispute with ebay and was advised that I had a claim against the seller. Ebay advised me to return the item to the seller.
I was also advised that it was my responsibility to pay for return shipping and handling and they could not guarantee that the seller would refund my money. Ebay allows sellers to post an item for bid, sell it, accept payment and then ship a differant item without any consequence to the seller.
The burden falls upon the buyer to cover the cost of the fraud perpetrated upon him. There is no protection for the buyer. It is commission form the sellers that pays the bills at ebay and they will stand behind their sellers honest or dishonest. Bottom line is $
