I had an extended warranty on several home appliances. Recently, the annual checkup was required on one of the appliances and after three no-shows from the repair person, I was more than upset. Yes, I had to take off from work and was held prisoner in my own home! Finally, the repair person showed up (late of course). I was not at home but my adult daughter was house-setting for me. The repair person arrived under the influence of alcohol and my daughter called me at work to come home immediately because she was fearful concerning the repair person's behavior and remarks. Upon arrival I escorted the repair person to his truck and immediately called the extended warranty department to complain. The repair person slept his buzz off in my driveway for more than 5 hours. I was promised a new appointment with a different repair person. Again, two more no-shows and yes two more days of taking off work! I called Sears complaining about the service I was not getting. I was informed my contract was dropped since I was a major complainer and no refund was forthcoming.
I want no more dealings with Sears but do wish to warn other prospective purchasers about this problem. I have found better retailers than Sears.
