The Kenmore air conditioner wall unit that I purchased in July has stopped working. It no longer blows cold air. I've been told that it needs freeon and that something else is malfunctioning and need repair. I have only used this unit for three months of each of the years that I've had it. Sears advised me that I no longer have warranty service and i must pay $109 for a man to come out an look at the unit. I understand that I have a limited warranty, 5 years, for the sealed refridigation parts. I had a technician come to the apartment who said the unit needed freeon and that he had to take it in for repair and that it would cost $365 to correct the problem. I do not feel that I should have to pay a $ 109 service charge plus parts and repair for a unit that I've only used for approx. Eight months. This unit is obviously defective. I wnat a replacement unit.
