On December 26, I had a follow up visit with Dr. Bachman for a root canal. At the first visit, I expressed my extreme anxiety with respect to drilling, and Dr. Bachman did a good job addressing my concerns. He first applied a topical anesthetic to my gums, waited for it to work, and then gave me numerous shots of novocain. This helped make sure that I did not feel any pain during the procedure. On December 26, I was the only patient in the office, and was taken right away. Dr. Bachman applied the topical anesthetic, and immediately reached for a syringe, looking to start the shots of novocain. I simply told the doctor that the topical anesthetic had not started to make my gum numb yet when Dr. Bachman exploded in anger. He screamed that no patient was going to tell him how to do his job because he has been doing his job for 30 years, and yelled at me to grow up, because he does not deal with children. He then rudely told me that he was leaving the room for a minute, and that I had better make my decision on whether or not I wanted my root canal treatment to continue. When Dr. Bachman returned, I told him that I have never been treated so badly before, and that I would not allow him to do anything more to me. He then walked out of the room, threw my file at his secretary and told her that he was done with me.
