When I went to Aspen Dental in May for my six month check up, it soon became the worst visit for dental care I have ever encountered. The dentist in this office said (after looking at my x-rays) that I had to old fillings that needed to be replaced. I took his word for it that he knew what he was talking about and made an appointment to have the fillings replace. On June 18, I had those two fillings replaced. (I found the doctor to be very informal before beginning this work as he did not even introduce himself to me and he was quite rough in doing the work). When I got home and the anesthetic wore off, I was in a great deal of pain. I called the office and told them of this pain and the doctor told the receptionist that it was just sensitivity and that I needed to give it a week or two. That evening I was in enough pain to need pain medication. The following Monday, June 23 I was no better and called the office again. I was told again that it was sensitivity. I told them it was NOT sensitivity, and that I was in extreme pain. The receptionist talked to the doctor and came back to the phone to tell me that she would call me right back, that the doctor might have to refer me out for a root canal. Four days later I had still not heard back from them and was absolutely miserable. I called another dentist, explained the problem and they got me in right away. Come to find out the dentist at Aspen Dental had fractured one of the teeth that he refilled and it had become abcessed. Before all this was over, I ended up have both of the teeth having to have root canals and I now I am in debt $2,600.00 because of Aspen Dental. When I wrote to Aspen Dental, I told them of the problem and demanded my money back. They refunded me the $241.00 that they charged me for the fillings but will not refund any of the other expenses. Needless to say, I will have to take them to small claims court. Back when I chose Aspen Dental as my dentist, I did so because they are one of the companies who honors the dental card that I carry and the are known in many states. The discount I received from them is what other dentists charge as a normal fee. What a ripoff.
