Ripoff Double Billing from Checking Account and Billing after AOL service discontinued

I was charged for AOL service that I cancelled in August. I told the AOL Billing representative to cancel my service. She tried to trick me into remaining with AOL. She told me that I could remain with AOL for one more month FREE and then decide if I wanted to cancel my service. I told her no. I wanted to cancel my aol service. It took me 15 minute to cancel my service because the AOL representative ignored my request to cancel my service and offered me AOL incentives, and services to remain with AOL.

After canceling my AOL service, I was assured me that I would not be billed further from AOL. On 9/28/04, AOL billed my checking account $28.90. There was not enough money to cover the AOL withdrawal and I was charged a $30.00 insufficient funds fee from my bank. On October 6, I was again billed $28.90. This charge was taken from my checking account.

I spoke to Pat in AOL Billing. She told me that I would receive a credit of $47.80 for AOL overcharges. I told Pat that AOL cost me $58.90 or an additional $11.10. I was told to write to AOL Billing in Jacksonville, Fl for the remainder of my money.

I was also told by Pat in AOL Billing that I have two AOL accounts. When I first signed up with AOL (almost 10 years ago) I was using my initial username. Later, I forgot my primary password for my initial username. I contacted AOL's On-Line Technical Support and later AOL Technical Support. I told AOL Technical Support that I wanted to either change my primary username or cancel my AOL service. AOL Technicial Support changed my primary username. I noticed a double withdrawal of $28.90 (one at the beginning of the month and one at the end). When

I contacted AOL Billing about the double withdrawals from my checking account AOL Billing assured me that AOL was only taking money for one account. I now know that I have been double billed by AOL for two accounts after AOL Billing told me that I have only one account. I did not know this. Pat told me that when I contacted AOL in August to cancel my account months later, AOL cancelled one of the accounts and continued to bill me. AOL owes me money it withdrew from my checking account for a second AOL account while AOL Billing was telling me I had only one account. I discovered AOL was withdrawing extra funds after I was charged for AOL service after I cancelled my AOL subscription in August.
