I cancelled my AOL dial-up back in March 04 because I was getting a different ISP.
The Rep I spoke to orecicely told me that the service will be extended for another months (which I don't think it's necessary) for FREE and cancel it.in September I was billed with the 'TWX Broadband for AOL' when infact I'm not even with them anymore, so I called them the day I receive my bankstatement angry and frustrated. They informed me that the account was still active and there was no activity for request of cancellation. So I requested to cancel it AGAIN with the same enticing offers.
The following month (this month, October), I am billed AGAIN! I called AOL again and asked them what is happening with Billings and Cancellation. They said my account is still active. THIS IS WHAT THEY TOLD ME;
If you log into aol.com email account, just to check your email (I checked my email to see if my account has been cancelled), your account will be RE-ACTIVATED automatically and get billed $24.95 per month. Do you believe that the first time you request to cancel it, your account is still active? And without completely obliterating your email username, you are still on their billing list. I swear, I cannot explain how I abhor AOL, The biggest scam ever I have to encounter.
