Deceptive advertising, gathering of information and not pci compliant

I just spent the most frustrating day of my life just trying to get comcast internet ordered. I started on the internet and tried to order their $19.99 per month for the first 6 months deal.

You do not find out until after you enter your info that it is not available to new customers, only existing. Then they ask for your SSN and DOB in order to check your credit on a verisign secured site. After entering all of your info and putting the $29.95 per Month package into your cart your only option is to go to chat? Once in chat they ask you for your SSN again on a seemingly unsecured chat line.

NO WAY am i giving that to someone I do not know on an unsecured chat window. I even got them to call me and ask for my SSN verbally (From India of course), I again declined.

After cooling off for a while I decided to call their US Sales office and attempt the order. I was told that the $19.99 deal advertised was only for existing customers again and Customer service was extremely rude about it. I called 4 more times to at least talk to someone calmly only to find out the account address was locked out after I spoke to the first CSR. I was told that someone would call me back on an hour or so when the account was released by the last CSR. Of course this never happened!

I called again and calmly ordered my internet, went through giving my SSN for a 3rd or 4th time so they could do a credit check on me (Note: I have another account at my house in Il that is in good standing). After setting up all of the details I was then asked for a Credit Card number after arguing about why they ran my credit score only to ask for my credit card number I gave them approval to charge $29.95 to my credit card. After giving the CC info i was then told their would be a $5.00 convenience fee added to the $29.99 and I would need to pay a $34.95 installation fee. I explained that I already had a modem compatible with their system and just needed to register it with them.

The 39.95 was waived, of course when I went to register the modem, mysteriously it would not register (Go Figure). They claimed a tech must have come and disconnected at the pole (funny it worked that morning before the old owner moved out and still worked until Customer service locked out the account address). I could also see their router on their end, yet they could not sync my modem. Another ploy to collect their precious $39.95 fee and of course I would have to wait 5 days for a tech. Now bear in mind they already charged me for the first months service. So I'm already paying for no service, they are lying to me about why they cannot register my modem and they took my CC info prior to telling me a total price (Against PCI Compliance Standards).

I plan on filing complaints with the Comcast Corporate, FCC, Congressman in 2 states, BBB, Credit card companies (for lack of PCI Compliance, anyone else i can think of and would love to be part of both an anti trust lawsuit and a deceptive advertising lawsuit.

Comcast has wasted my entire day with their BS and I will waste another filing all of these complaints. This is America, I am the customer and I should have freedom of choice in who i deal with. Comcast should not have a monopoly!!!
