Appalling Customer Service ripoff

Since I purchased my Dell over a year ago, I had problems with my CD/ROM. It was making a grinding noise and wouldn't read CD/ROM's. I spent countless hours on the phone with Dell with roughly 10 different techs (the case number they gave me wasn't worth anything) and never got a solution.

Each and every one of them insisted on going through the same steps I had been through countless times before and their recital of "I'm sorry you're having this trouble" became nauseating. I went through the same story with them so many times I became frustrated and demanded a tech in the United States.

When they finally agreed, the man who got on the phone only spoke a little better English than the others. I told him I wasn't stupid and new he wasn't a certified Dell Tech in the US, I could read out of a manual myself and wasn't going to go through this with them again. When they finally agreed to send me a new drive, 6 months had passed. I installed it and ran into the same problem.

Because I couldn't handle talking to them again, I asked a friend of mine to look at the system for me. After all of this nightmare, it turned out it was the software Dell had installed on my system. There was nothing wrong with the drive.

I might add I had the computer delivered to my work address and because of this, they send all of my mail (except for the bills of course) to my work address. I've asked them over and over again to correct it, I'm assured they'll do it and it wasn't done.

Bottom line? You couldn't pay me to buy another Dell.
