Dell Computers
Ripoff deceived me about support

I bought a computer through Costco and that is my only saving grace because they will take it back, for up to 6 months, but if I can stop even one person from buying a Dell I will have done the world and that person a big favor.

Dell has ZERO customer service. I called DEll and told them I had a problem with my brand new PC and they said I was not the registered owner so they could not help me. After 3 calls and getting forwarded to QVC, and Costco, I found out that DELL had put the PC in Costco'name. Got that fixed and after speaking to no less than 8 people in India, taking over two and a half hours, they sent me a new set of speakers. The new one arived in two days and they failed for the same reason, too much background noise.

I called back and taked to Customer Service, after 30 minutes on hold, they told me I needed to talk to Tech Support and I waited another 30 minutes to talk to them. They said I needed to talk to the Help Desk, so I waited another 20 minutes on hold listening to the mind numbing Dell music, when I finally reached the help desk they told my to call a 800 number so I did and I again got into the same loop with Customer Service and you know what they said, yea you guessed it, I needed to talk to Tech Support, AHHHH!!!

So I called back later in the day and it started all over again only they gave me the 800 number for QVC the TV shopping channel folks, now I don't buy from the TV folks there but they are nice people and I had a good laugh with them then I called the original number again.

I gave up and tried again today and got the same exact phone brush-off as before.

Don't even bother to buy a DELL. Here is an idea, find a local PC shop and go there, pay a little more, support a neighbor, and have a real counter to go pound on if you have a problem.

One good thing is I can now do an Indian voice just about as good as the Simpsons charter Abau. As they said to me twice "I am not knowing, can you hold please?"

Good luck
