Outsourcing Nightmare

Have a Dell, Inspiron 1525. Loved it until I had a blur screen appear a month ago. I called Dell customer service for help, knowing my warranty had expired 6 months earlier. I knew I'd have to either pay for 1 time help or pay to extend warranty. Dell rep told me he would transfer me to warranty extension folks & when a warranty salesperson got on he offered me some different sounding options. I've dealt w / Dell before & I questioned what he was offering but assumed that Dell had changed warranty policies. I ended up buying a 3 year extended warranty which included a monthly check-up call from a tech. Didn't sound like Dell at all (of course, I knew I was speaking w / someone in India but assumed it was a Dell tech). Turns out, Dell transferred me to a 3rd party tech help company called IYogi which explains why the warranty extension plans were different. I didn't care but was very surprised that no one made me aware of this. Tech help from them was not as good as the help I received from actual Dell folks in the past but I assumed that this was how it was now & that dell tech service was all IYgi. Not true. I called Dell the other day & my 3 year warranty which I paid $369 for is not filed w / Dell. They are not recognizing it! Also, was told that I could have gone directly to a Dell technician & paid over a $100 less for a 3 year plan. WTF! Dell handed me over to IYogi & never told me that I was dealing w / a 3rd party vendor whose tech service stinks & which costs more. Also, Dell still offers 1 yr extension & IYogi did not so my choices were not even the same from both companies. I sent a complaint letter to Dell & IYogi & noone has gotten back to me. For me, I loved my Dell until I needed tech help. It has been horrible & now I have a lap top about to crash, I'm out $369 & although IYogi is honoring their warranty, I don't want to work w / them because their tech support staff rushes through everything & keeps telling me to do things & then call them back when I'm done. When I do call them back I get someone new & he takes me through the same diagnostic test, tells me to run it & call him back when I'm done! It goes on like this for hours & my computer is still non functional. My advice is to stay away from Dell.
