Body Of Change - LA Fitness
Ripoff false promises made and trainers cheated which means no respect for customers What's up with that? Lakewood California

I joined LA Fitness in April because friends recommended the club. They offered one free training session with Body of Change trainers. I told them I wanted a specific trainer because he was recommended to me by my friends.

LA Fitness manager told me I had to see the site manager of Body of Change. I went to the trainer I was interested in training me and he told me that was incorrect that he could do the one free training session.

After the training session, I spoke with the manager on site. What a great salesman! He sold me the one year contract and forgot to tell me about the fees involved. I was interested in the training so, I decided this was for my own good and paid the fees regardless.

On the third day of my training, I walk into the gym, go to the counter and wait 15 minutes to see my trainer when my friend walks up to me and tells me my trainer was fired.in the mean time while I had been standing there several trainers and one of the managers ignored me standing there and never asked if I need help. Oh great is my reply, it would have been nice of them to contact me a inform me of the situation.

I walked into the site managers office and asked him what was up with my trainer and if the trainer would be back. He gave me the run around for a while and then finally admitted the trainer had been fired. I told him he needed to ensure that I get another trainer and that this person is good. He said rest asured I will have another trainer set up to meet with you on the next training day.

I showed up Saturday and I had a trainer but this indivdual was more interested in looking around the gym and watching everything else that was going on then watching to see if I was doing the weight properly. I missed several sessions due to this trainers vacation times and no shows.

I informed management of her no shows but it didn't change. To be exact, I started trainig on April 11 and by the first week of September, I had 29 sessions banked and owed to me. Then one week I went to training, I only missed one training session when I returned I got a call from the trainers significant other telling me she would not be in on that Friday due to family emergency. Okay, fine no problem but I was to meet with the trainer on Saturday and nothing was said about them not being able to meet with me - so, yet another no show.

No calls from this person until Tuesday and the trainer leaves a message seting up an appointment with me and another trainer telling me they would not be working evenings any more. So, I meet with the new trainer and once again I am having to train someone else to my abilities on the weights. Since trainer number two said they would not train evenings any longer, I thought Saturday mornings were still on and boy was I wrong to think that because trainer number two did not show for three weeks but had my name written down on the books as if they were going to train me.

I just figured I had no choice but to continue with trainer three so, I did. She did another had to do another weight, measurement etc thing with me because come to find out they had lost the original one. Trainer number three had to start from day one with me again. I was really pissed at this point because I had seen no weight loss, I had lost inches but I had nothing to compare that with because they lost the orignal paperwork and I had been given no meal plans to help me with my eating habits.

Everything they had promised me in the beginning was nothing but a scam! I then started working out every week night with this new trainer to start making up all the sessions I had gotten behind in due to trainer number two's neglect.

Then I had to take a week off due to an unrelated injury and when I returned the trainer told me Body of Change was no longer as of October 1 and that they were told not schedule any further training sessions. But, they had no problem collecting payment for the month of September from me. Yet another thing to anger me so, I talked with the site manager on September 30 to find out when I was going to be notified of the changes or activities and the remainder of my sessions. He had nothing to tell me other than give me phone numbers - I called the numbers and have had to leave messages - to date October 5, I still have had no information provided to me and no phone calls returned.

I can not put blame on the trainers because they are only paid $6.00 a half hour for the clients yet the company charges $30.00 a session. Where is the money going to and why are the trainers being paid so little - you can't blame them for the could care less attitudes they have.

Now I am in a waiting pattern and I a ready to call an attorney for this company making promises and not coming through with them. It states clearly "Personal Training / Nutritional Program Services" on the contract what's up with that?
