I will make this report short and sweet.
A number of months ago, my wife signed up for a membership with Body of Change (LA Fitness Personal Training. I trustfully let her take care of the whole process. But first, her and I had a free hour-long training session with the training manager. The trainer made both of us feel like we were in horrible shape... Which was not true! Given, I could stand to bulk up, but this was major sales pressure. Oh! This session was amazing! They trick you by getting their very best to train you first!
So, the contract gives customers half-hour (30 minutes) long sessions instead of hour-long sessions. That is where they first confuse you. I have a close friend that was duked into signing up for what she thought was hour-long sessions. They count of you just signing the contract and not paying attention. The rates for that half-an-hour are ridiculous ($49.00).in my wife's case (I didn't sign up with her), the training manager that she wanted to work-out with "moved" to another gym within 1 training session. You must make sure that the gym has at least two trainers that you enjoy working with, which you probably won't find.
The trainers at LA Fitness centers are sorry excuses for trainers. My wife's trainer explained to her how most of the trainers were certified by a truly crappy certification course that would never fly in a "real" training business. The male trainers are the worst! 20-something, horny, pestering, cocky, jerks!
In the end, I suggest NEVER SIGNING UP WITH BODY OF CHANGE PERSONAL TRAINING FROM LA FITNESS!!! Just don't do it! If you want to get in shape, look elsewhere for training. These people are salesman first! The training is crappy, the contracts are binding for 6 months to 1 year, and the sessions are expensive. Please take my advice! I'm tired of people losing money so some corporate CEO can wipe his butt with $100's.
