I purchased a GE washer and dryer in May. Last week my dryer quit working. After contacting GE for a service call, I was advised the fee was $50.00 to come out plus any parts and labor. The repairman arrived and took apaprt my dryer, cleaned it out and greased the motor. He even asked to use MY vacuum to clean it.
Well, that was successful, and the dryer works. For now. I was advised of the $50.00 service call, and then told it would be $144.00 for the labor! The dryer cost me $239.00 new and now I was having to pay $194.00 for 30 minutes of work. When the dryer quits again, I will go buy a new one, and it won't be a GE.
I will never purchase a GE product again. This is a rip off to charge $144.00 to take apart the dryer, vacuum it, and grease the motor. Beware of GE products and service.
