I noticed that I had a $21.95 debit from my checking account a few days ago. I didn't know what it was so I had the bank e-mail a copy of the "check".
I called the phone number that was on it to find out what the charge was for. It was for a roadside assistance program through Roadside Plus. They told me when I applied for a payday loan, that I had signed up for a 7 day free trial for the roadside assistance as part of a promotion.
I contacted the payday loan that I had gone through and they said they have not promoted anything like that and they are not affiliated with Roadside Plus.
I asked Roadside Plus to send me proof of something showing that I had signed up for it. They told me they couldn't do that because it's in the computers and their computers are designed to hold information for our protection.
They refuse to refund my money. They are also very rude and hateful. When you ask to speak to a supervisor they hang up on you. When you call back and talk to someone else, they say the reason the other person hung up was for language usage (there was not bad language used).
Anyone that reads this and has had the same thing happen to them, please report it. Help stop the scams that are going on everyday.
