I have ordered three different items from different informercials and all three times my debit card was charged without authorization to be "a member" for various discounts.
I have always just ordered the item and nothing else. The companies have told me that I had agreed to become a member.
I hadn't really noticed the charges on my bank statement, until I had become overdrawn in my checking acct. Then, as I got to doing some research, discovered that I was being charged almost $100 a month to be a "member". This had been going on for SEVEN months!
I have tried several times, talking to several different "reps" to get my money refunded. All to NO Success!
I never thought that I could/would be scammed. Boy, was I wrong.
So, not only was I scammed by various infomercials, my bank refuses to refund the Unauthorized Transactions, making my account balance insufficient for my every day needs.
