As part of my purchase agreement I received a Home Warranty paid by the seller. Ordinarily I would never pay for something like this as I've found they're more trouble than their worth and a total rip-off, but it came with the house so I thought it was better than nothing.
Within my first day of moving in I found problems with the home that my inspector had either not found, or the previous home owners had broken before I moved in. I had to call about the microwave right off (more detailed complaint further down) and the following day I had a stripped stem in my master shower that caused the water to run for an hour and a half before I could get it off and then another four hours without water while waiting for a service tech to show up.
I was also frustrated to learn that every time someone comes out to my home, it costs $60, even if they find nothing wrong.
