WARNING to new home buyers: Service One (Phoenix) is a Dishonest Home Warranty Company

I purchased my home July and this purchase included a home warranty with the company "Service One Home Warranty Company" located in Phoenix, AZ.
Once moving into my home, I contacted the company because there was no cold water running in the Shower. My house was inspected prior to the sale of the home, and EVERYTHING was working to our satisfaction.

The owner of the home showed the inspector that there was running cold water in that shower. The company refused to pay for it stating this was a pre-existing condition. So, I still have no cold water running in my front shower.

I called them on some minor problems, only to find out from the rude customer service people answering the phone that all of these problems were not covered also by the company. So I was able to afford to fix many of these problems on my own.

But, most important, the last call I made to them, was in regard to my AC unit. I had a complaint that the heater was only blowing in cold air when the Temp outside would get below 35 degrees. So, they sent out Martin Refrigeration, Inc from Glendale, AZ, and they checked the unit and found the blower motor was by-passed from the defrost board, and the defrost board would need to be replaced. The company refused to fix this problem stating again, it was a pre-existing problem or someone else had tampered with the AC unit prior to this company warranting my home.

In my opinion, this company led me to believe that they would cover any problems that I may encounter the first year I purchased this home, since EVERYTHING was working. This company falls back on "pre-existing conditions" often. Beware of your inspector also, (inspector Budget: Matthew Jenks) besure, they make the necessary changes on the inpection report when he has noted a problem, then it was fixed or, in my case, lied to about the lack of cold water running properly in the shower by the previous owners.

Service one home warranty company is a poor excuse for a home warranty company. They will not cover anything. Do not waste your money and it the seller is offering this company to you, refuse it. Find one on your own. It will be well worth it.
