This past October i went on to the Aprilaire website to look over there whole house humidifiers that get attached to furnace split unit. Since my home gets so dry during the winter months i figured i would consider a local aprilaire certified company to install my whole house humidifier. Bad move on my part.
I got the name for this company "CareFree Air" from there website. They came out and gave me a price. They first came out and attempted to install it and then told me that the Humidistat is defected and needs to be replaced, so i said no problem. It took them 3weeks to come out and install another humidistat. Then they left and i noticed that its still not working so i called again and they sent out another guy.
He said that he has to order another humidistat and would return next week. Well then they sent out another guy and still didnt replace the humidistat and then left. I get home from work late then went to increase the temp. And no heat pumping at all from the furnace. Its late i cant call this company and 10pm and its the start of the holiday weekend and my son is sick and now i dont have heat this night. At this time i am now FUMING.
My wife and kids have to freeze tonight.in the morning i call the Tech. That one there the previous day and told him to come out to check this out since you were the last guy to play with my furnace. He tells me why am i calling him. I then call the company answering machine with frustration. It took them 5 hrs to get someone out to fix this. The tech. That came out said it was a mistake on there part and there would be no charge.
So now i still dont have a functioning Humidifier and i already paid these guys the first day they started working. I call the company and speak to the owner and he has the nerves to tell me why are you calling me call service. I told arent you the owner, dont you like to listen to complaints. Anyway he sent out someone rite away and replaced the humidistat with one for another model.
And guess what it still doesnt work i just gave up with them and just called another company to come out and figure out what they did wrong. It turned out that the wiring was incorrect thats why it wasnt working. Its not over yet. They have the audacity to send me a bill for that day they came out to repair the mistake they caused. I followed a complaint with aprilaire but that wont help.
Stay away from them. I had big problems for something that is so simple, A Humidifier. Imagine if they were installing a boiler or furnace. I would have pulled out my hair.
