I currently have a home under constract with WH Properties, lot #106 in the Barnes Mill Subdivision. The builder is Red Oak Construction. I went out to my home site on 10/01/06, and noticed that the left side of the house does not look like the right side of the house. One side of the house has a brick and and stone water table. There is also brick midway up the side of the home. The other side of the home is mostly vinly siding, with no brick on the water table, and little stone. The Right and Left sides of the house look totally different! This appears to be a major mistake on behalf of the builder. I have been in contact with their sales representative, Colby Henson, expressing my concern. He has advised there is nothing he can do, due to site conditions. He advised that site conditions were of issue, on the first phone call I made to him, without even going out to the property, and investigating my complaint.
There are at least 20 homes constructed in the neighborhood, and ALL of the homes are consistent in the fact that the right side of the home, looks just like the left side of the home. We requested that stairs be added to the back deck of the home. The company advised this is an upgrade, and a charge will be incurred. This was not noted in our list of upgrades, nor did the floor plan we were given note the omission of stairs on the back deck of the home.in case of fire, the only way to get out of the home is via the front door, or the basement door, which is very close to the front door of the property.
My inspector also noted several errors, in which upon giving the builder my report from the inspector in the sales office he quoted "these inspectors don't know what their talking about, and they take a few classes thinking that know what their doing". My inspector has been in this business for over 20 years. My inspector noted several errors with the construction of this property.
