My husband and myself had purchased our new home by Neumann on February 28. We wanted to move to give our new son a bigger home and larger backyard to play in. This has been our biggest mistake ever! We were promised our home would be built by May.
They told us there would be a delay due to construction strikes and they moved the date back to September. We put our house up for sale at the end of July figuring by the time we close we will be ready to move into the new house. Our home sold in one day and our closing was scheduled for August 25th. We thought we would only have to live in an apartment for 2 weeks or 3 weeks tops.
We have now been there for 2 months. Our house has been constructed wrong. Due to errors at the Neumann Homes Dream Center they poured our foundation to support a bay door in our family room. The bay door was supposed to go in the dinette area of our kitchen. We brought this to their attention back at the end of August. They had to leave the bay in the family room and turn it into a window and canteliver the bay door for the kitchen.
It is now 2 months later and the windows still are not in either the door or the family room. They have not drywalled the house nor had an inspector come out to inspect it for drywall. Once the inspector comes out they will take another 6-8 weeks to finish the home. This is now putting us to a closing date of late December early January when we were supposed to be in in May!
We have now contacted our attorney to get out of the contract and we are getting nothing but the run around from everyone we speak with at Neumann Homes. This has become a terrible nightmare for my husband and myself and a horrible inconvience to my 12 month old son.
