Poor quality, refuse repair, given run-around Ripoff Winchester Virginia

To whom it may concern:
In may I purchase a JD 120 mower from The Home Depot. Having been raised on a farm and using John Deere equipment all my life, I was thrilled to own a mower with the John Deere brand name and level of quality. Unfortunately I have been very disappointed with the quality of workmanship I have discovered in this mower. I later found that JD does not make this mower, a fact Home Depot is unwilling to share.

The first year I returned the mower for a transmission problem, three times. I was told by the dealer there was no problem and that all JD mowers have this same annoying feature, whining in the transmission and to engage the machine into reverse you must slam you foot on the reverse pedal with great force. Even then the transmission sometimes refused to move the mower. I took the mower to another dealer about a month later with the same problem. They promptly diagnosed the problem as low transmission fluid and attempted a fix. They said about 1/3 of fluid was missing. The same year a bearing was replaced on the deck.

This year the hood broke requiring a new hood, new bearing on the deck, again, which then required a new belt. The transmission was again worked on and needed hubs replaced on the axels. I was told again, this is a problem JD has been having with this mower. The warranty ran out while sitting in the shop to be repaired.
I emailed JD, they said call Home Depot. I emailed Home Depot, they said call JD.

Based on my experience with the 120 I would not buy another JD. I could have bought a Murray for the price but I though I was buying quality. It appears I bought a name.

I still have problem with the mower, which has 150 hours. They will not repair, replace, or exend the warranty. It is kind of like when we were kids and use to say, "Jack, Jack, no trade back."
