We bought a 2005 Escape last week from these people. When we test drove it we had to take the route that they told us to take (there were no left turns). We heard something in the frount end of the car and told the salesman who said nothing. The air in the car did not work we were told that it just needed charged (wrong the whole air needs replaced). We got the car at a lower price due to this fact so we signed papers and got approved for a loan. We had to leave before all the paper work was done so they let us take the car home.
Driving the car home we found that their was something bad going on with the front end when the car got to 55 miles per hour it drove bad. Also the breaks were bad so the next morning with down payment in hand we took it back to Sextons and told them all about the things that we found and that we felt that this car was unsafe to drive and we wanted them to check it out.
We were told at that time that they would not check it out and that we had already brought the car after several talks back and forth with the manager (who never spoke to us in person) we were told that they would do a diag on the car but if something was found we would have to pay for it. We told them that we did not feel comfortable doing the rest of the paper work or giving them a down payment on a unsafe car.
We were then told by our sales person that the manager had told him to tell us ' The manager was going to let us hold the down payment over his head and that he would get the payment from us one way or another'We told him about the lemon law and that we were leaving. We were told then that we had bought that car and if we did not finish the deal that they would sue us and if we left the car there that they would have it towed and we would be responcable for all the towing charges. We have taken this car in and the est cost for all repairs are in the thousands.
