I had the Texaco Express Lube change the oil and filter in my Jeep as I prepared for a trip from Bradenton, Fl to Charlotte, NC. During the night drive the oil filter fell off and caused damage to the engine. The store manager and area rep both admitted that they had installed the wrong filter. My total expenses were $1845 and they stated it would be no problem for me to get reimbursed.
Well, the claim was denied by a VP in Miami whe said they would not consider paying it so I may as well sue them. That will be my next step if what I have in the works does not resolve it. Since it has been over 18 months since the claim I doubt if anything short of a lawsut will help.
