I went in for a standard oil change at Jiffy Lube and was told I needed to have my engine flushed and my air filter replaced. I don't know anything about cars so I trusted they knew what they were talking about. They also told me I needed the top of the line oil for an engine like mine, which it turns out I don't need that. They sold me the oil change (72.99), engine flush (65.99), and air filter (25.99), for a total bill of $178. This is a ridiculous amount for an oil change that should've only cost me $30. I didn't need the air filter replaced, the engine didn't need to be flushed, and I later learned I could have used the standard oil and been just fine. Standard oil does not damage my engine or lessen its performance. The techs at Jiffy Lube oversold me. They're supposed to be professionals, not used car salesmen. I will never trust Jiffy Lube again.
