Is not replacing your oil filter Ripoff

I took my car to EZ Lube on 02-06 for an oil change. Although EZ Lube charged me for the oil and oil filter (it's on the invoice) they did not change the oil filter. And this is the second time in the last 18 months that this has happened. Same thing happened when I went to EZ Lube on 09-26. They charged me for oil and oil filter but did not replace the filter. I thought may be it was an oversight. But now that it has happened twice I am convinced EZ Lube is doing this routinely to unsuspecting customers.

When I called to complain, the manager wanted to know how do I know the filter was not changed. So I told him that I had marked the oil filter with a permanent marker before taking the car to EZ Lube. He was silent for good 10 seconds and then he asked me to bring the car back to have the filter changed. I told the manager I will but I have to be out of my mind to take it back. Who knows what dirty trick thay might play to ruin my car.

EZ Lube is ruining peoples' cars just to save a couple dollars. I don't think most people pay attention to these things. Although on lot of cars it's easy to see the filter by lifting the hood, on some cars you have to get under the car to see the filter. That's the case with my both cars.
