Midas
Destroyed my ca

I am taking the time to send you this email as a formal complaint in regards to repairs that were done on my 2004 voltswagon jetta car. The car was brought in for repair some time mid Octoeber to the Midas location in Bridgeport, CT. My car was initially brought in to have a water pump repaired because the car was overheating. Midas advised me at time of car inspection that i needed to have a timing belt and thermostat replaced as well. While my car was being repaired at this facility, Midas broke a valve in my engine. Midas took responsibility for the damages and provided me with a rental car while the car was getting repaired.

My cars engine was repaired at an engine repair shop in Stratford, then brought to Curran Voltswagon Jetta in Stratford to have functions reset. I picked up my car and drove it half way up the street, when my check engine light came on and the overheating needle began bouncing up and down. I drove the car back to Midas and was advised by Scott who was the manager at the time, to drive my car around for a cycle and the check engine light should go off as well as the needle should stop bouncing (rental car had already been taken back). I drove the car around for a week, and the needle stopped bouncing but the check engine light remained on. I called Scott at midas and advised him of this. Scott in turn made an appointment for me to bring the car back to Curran Voltswagon Jetta, but would not provide me with a rental car for that day to get back to Waterbury and to work. So i never brought the car in because i could not afford the day off.

I would say about 2 weeks later i noticed my car was leaking anti freeze fluid. I purchased anti freeze fluid and filled the car back up with it, before i purchased this antifreeze i confirmed by calling pep boys that this was the correct antifreeze fluid for my make and model car. The very next day i went out to start my car and my overheating light flashed. I checked the coolant level and the car was completely empty. I also checked my oil because i noticed little spots on the ground, and when i pulled the stick out it was covered with oil and green filmy stuff. I proceeded to wipe stick off and recheck the oil and again green filmy stuff came on the stick, when i wiped the stick with white paper the paper had bright green stuff on it... I did this about 4 different times just to make sure i wasnt seeing things, but it seemed like the antifreeze was leaking into my engine. I immediately called Scott back at midas and his response was you have a cracked head valve in your engint, i will call you right back. He called me back and advised me they will pay for car to be towed, my rental, and all repairs.

Since car is now at velency motors in Watertown Ct, repairs were done to my car, none of which sound like the problem it was brought in for. I am being told by velency motors that they did not see any antifreeze in my engine (which is not true) and Midas is telling me that if i take the car back and have any more problems that they are not held liable for this any longer. My car has never been to any other facility other than Midas for repair work since i had it, and i feel that midas should repair my car no matter how long it takes. At this point i havent heard from any one at corporate and i called and made a complaint one week ago.

I will be seeking advise of legal representation, because as far as im concerned my car is of no value to me any longer and midas is leaving this all up to me... Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated...
