Koons Sterling Ford
Rip-off! I was coerced into buying used truck that had been damaged. Rude! Condescending behavior! Liars! No return phone calls!

I am writing my story now as I feel completely and utterly mortified over my experience with Koons Sterling Ford in 6/04. I wanted a Ford Ranger and was shown something by the salesman that ultimately would have been sent to auction. I was very hesitant on this vehicle because it wasnt what I wanted and it was your basic bottom of the line with no extras. Not even any carpet. So after much "you are not going to find a better deal than this" and "you are killing me with how low I am going to sell this to you", and the "blue book price on this is $100 above what you are paying", I signed.

I brought my husband back and low and behold it appeared to have been wrecked. The passenger door was serously dented. The qaurter panels were mis-aligned, there was paint missing and dings and dents everywhere. It appeared that it had possibly rolled. Well the used sales manager came out and told my husband and I in a very condescending manner how I should have seen these things, and could I not see in the daytime even though in was crammed between massive vehicles into a lot when I saw it, and basically it was my fault. He claimed it had never been wrecked and did I not read the carfax report. He then told me that if I didnt want it I had 7 days to "change my mind".

Well my husband argued with him to fix the body work. They agreed to fix some of it but "what did I expect with a used truck"? (This was a 2001 with 38K miles). I later called the used car manager and told him I had decided that that vehicle was not for me. He threatened me with legal action and that I had already signed and it was now mine. I reminded him of the fact that he had said I had 7 days to change my mind. He said he had never said any such thing. He was rude, offensive, lied and raised his voice at me and made me so upset I was crying hysterically. I was sick over the whole thing. I had committed myself to pay $9000 cash. I could not afford payments.

When I went back to pick it up I was sick. The vehicle had beens somewhat fixed up. There was a big crack in the driver's side door panel and the door jam looked like there had been an attempt to break in. I was handed the keys and told here you go.By the way this vehicle was certified. Hoses were bad which I later had to replace. Brakes were bad. Tires were worn and rear window was leaking so bad I had to put a bucket behind the seat to catch the water. All of which I had to pay for.

I had been told that new tires were being put on. The tires were exchanged for very worn ones with a bent wheel. I tried to contact the general manager and store manager several times. No one would answer me. That was 6 months ago. I recently was given an estimate of value from Car Max with the Kelly Blue Book price. $4500 is it's worth! I paid $9000 and was told it was worth $100 over that! The whole experience has not left me. That was the most horrible experience I have ever had and hope no one has to go through what I did.
