Ford Motor Comapny
We are tired of the run around

My husband and I own a 1997 f350 diesel truck. While the vehicle was still under warranty and only had 19,000 mile on it, we informed the dealer of a possible front end problem. When the right front tire totally dished out we told the dealer we had to replace a tire and to check the truck again. The truck then had 21,000 miles. The dealer ended up having to replace both front ball joints. We asked the dealer to reimburse us for the tire. They said they would have to check with the manager. A week later when we called about this matter, the Ford dealer said they could not make reimbursement, that we should go to the dealer who sold us the vehicle. We checked with that dealership. They also refused, saying that it is Ford's policy to never replace tires. I told the manager that their warranty Booklet clearly states on page 19 that if it is a defective truck part, tires would be replaced. They refused. I contacted Detroit, and Ford Corporate Headquarters. After the run around with their complaint screener, I talked to a supervisor. This woman said that I should contact the dealers. I said that I already had. She asked me to talk directly to the Manager of the Ford Dealership of purchase. So I called them again with the same results. No. When I tried to contact this Ford supervisor in Detroit a second time. My call was refused and I was told my complaint had been heard and that they would not talk to me again.

Since this incident, I am very intent on proving Ford does not warrant this coverage that they have in their warranty book. I have found another gentleman who had similar front end problems and worn tires. Ford was going to bill him for his tires, but he drove off their lot with new tires, refusing to pay the dealer.

Clearly Ford sets a precident of fraud with this warranty. If Ford has 100 people per month in every state needing two tires replaced at a cost of $150.00 per tire.in one month Ford would have paid $1,500, 000.00 in tire expense. There is clear motive in why they do not warrant this clause.

If there is anyone who has had this exact difficulty with Ford Motor please contact me a my e-mail: [email protected]

I would like to see just how many people Ford had ripped off in this manner. There maybe enough to file class action and bring this big company down a peg. Certainly they should be made to honor their warranties or remove them from their booklets. This is what I hope as a group of consumers we can force them to do.
