I have lived in my home for 17 years now. For the first dozen years I had a loan with the Veterans Administration. I was a year and a half ahead of schedule when I had to refinance to pay off my ex husband. We had Northwest Mortgage for several years without too much problems.
Then Wells Fargo bought out our contract and the nightmares began. It isn't anything to get statements from them from 3 different states and the amounts are usually different. If I send the payment by Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation they still try to say they didn't get payment.
They gave us a reduced payment for 3 months because my husband was out of work. At the end of that time we made payment arrangements for the balloon payment on a check by phone option. That was a big mistake! Six weeks went by and we never heard from them until we got a foreclosure notice. Imagine our shock. They never took the money out of the bank and they tried to tell us our check bounced.
We took the money that should have gone for payments and hired an attorney to put a stop to the whole mess. They required a 500.00 show of faith payment. Again they wanted a check by phone. I went online every single day to see when the money was taken out. After a week we called because it was still in the bank, we were assured everything was fine.
One week later they tried to tell us our check had bounced. We sent all of our bank records to the attorney proving the money was there the whole time.
When this mess first started I sent an email to the President and our Vice President. I was hopping mad. Both of them responded to my email. My attorney was having difficulty getting anyone to respond to his calls so I faxed him a copy of those letters. Within 2 hours someone returned his calls. They also said that there was nothing wrong with our accounts and they had some kind of a glitch in their system.
I am still trying to get confirmation from them that on May 7 they will not be doing a Sheriff's sale. And now I am stuck paying extra fees they have tacked on to the end of my loan. I went through all of this nightmare for no good reason!
