After deciding to live with hail damage to our vehicle, we sent an insurance check to Credit Acceptance Corporation to be applied directly to the principle balance. The payment was input incorrectly and our account was reported to the credit reporting companies as in collection. We have never been late for one payment. Credit Acceptance refused to correct. We began fighting this action in October, 1003. Believing all was cleared, we applied for a loan through an auto dealer and were told, 'No one can help you.'
Credit Acceptance Corporation did not clear this up until after we paid the the loan in full. The loan was paid approximately 30 months early! Numerous contacts were made to them by myself and the local automobile dealer with whom they contracted.
We now have MULTIPLE NEGATIVE REPORTS on file in several local and national financial companies.
