On january 9th of 2004 i was billed $134.95 by homeworks plus for a yearly membership fee to which i never signed up for or gave consent to the use of my credit card. Somehow they got a hold of my card number. I called my bank and reported the fraud and then preceeded to call the homeworks plus office and demand my $ be returned immediately! They said they would return $110.10 to my account in 2 business days. I asked them what is going to happen to the other $24.95. The respondent's exact words were "well basically we keep it". No remorse no reason just plain as that and said thank you and she hung up.
I called back and threatened to call the state attorney general of new jersey and report this and they promptly agreed to have the entire amount back in my account the following day. This will be tomorrow the 16th so well see how that goes. I have since contacted the state attorney generals office to file a complaint.
This company has done this to so many people they need to be shut down. Also the corresponding dates to my so-called yearly fee means I would have signed up on jan 9th of last year. I lived in another house last year that burnt down on Jan 19. Also I didn't own a computer until April. Be careful and help to stop this company.
