Harrassing Customers for Payment

I will keep this as brief as possible.

Last month (7) we kept getting calls from an 800 number several times daily beginning on 7/2. Finally one evening I picked up the call. It was Chase bank attempting to collect a debt on our property. I said WHAT DEBT? They said my mortgage payment that was due 7/1 (this conversation happened on 7/8 I believe). At that I told them if they check the history of our account, we always make payment in person at the local (and I mean local) bank by the 15th of the month. With that they persisted to get me to give them my bank information over the phone. On their third try to "help me out" I flat out told them NO and hung up.

Now they are trying the same tactic this month. I feel they have NO RIGHT to contact me for payment unless the account is LATE. Late meaning I am liable for late fees if I don't get the payment to them now. Until the 16th of any given month, there are no late fees assessed to the account. Therefore, I am not late paying them.

Please post this to wherever will help anyone. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER! I do not trust ANYONE that calls me and wants to do me a favor especially if they have to use an overseas collection department to do their work.
