In June we mailed our payment to Homecomings, 2 money orders with the account number on each in 1 envelope, well you guessed it they suddenly couldn't find 1 of the money orders. After they notified us that our house payment was inaccurate and we informed them that it was there somewhere, they insisted it wasn't. I called the money order company and yes the money order was cashed and after my story they was nice eough to tell me yes it was cashed by Homecomings.
In the meantime I requested a copy of the money order be faxed directly to Homecomings of course at our expense! In the meantime I also sent a copy of the money order reciept to Homecomings. # weeks later it is still ot resolved and we recieve a notice that we ar in default of our loan for their mistake after a very nasty phone call with their representative 2 days later they finally fine the payment credited to someone elses account, we was told one number had been keyed in wrong and we should disregard the notice of default... Yeah right it was now on our credit and showed.
Now to forward we called in Feburary about doing something to lower our payments since my husbands work hours have been reduced, well no luck there we could refi which would lower our payments 30 bucks a month and add 5 grand refi charges to the loan, other than that we are sol they said. We don't have a freddie mac or fannie mae loan to get that help and I assume after 16 years in this house we may just lose it.
They said to fill out their paperwork on their website and fax it in, well that is about useless as they don't even look at it I assume because they can't find ours now either. We have been on a repayment plan in the past with them and payed exactly as they requested to where we were caught up due to an escrow shortage, and it was a nightmare to deal with them over that even and the charges they put on that plan was terrible. We paid 12.00 a month for someone to supposedly drive by our house to make sure we still lived here what a joke. They found everything they could and stuck it on there for us to pay. I hope there is a class action suit we will join as they are crooks.
