I sent This E-mail To Mountian America Credit Union now that we no longer Have thousands of dollars in our account they treat us like crap. Just another Money Grubing Financial Institute.
This Concerns the sugar house branch.
At one time we have had in excess of 50,000 Dollars in our credit union Account now this Bank is refusing to cash our pay checks.
We have had our personal account as well as our Business account with Mountain America for 3 years now! Do to the loss of our business we have
Relocated to Salt Lake City And Have been scrapeing to make ends meet this last year.
My Wife Works near the Sugar house branch In Salt
Lake City Utah and on friday Evenings she Hurrys from work to cash her Paycheck up until latley we have had no problem However about two months ago one teller started telling her she couldnt cash her check there that are savings could not be used for this. Granted are savings has not had much over $10 dollars in it but we do deposit what we can even if we are forced to withdraw it the same week we do struggle to keep the $25 dollrs in it. We like Mountain America Credit union and hope to keep the account open.
Two Weeks Ago i Called the Suger House Branch And spoke to the drive up window manager A lady who was very rude and refused to give her name or the name of the teller however she did state she would take care of the problem that they wanted to handle it in there branch. This was after i Had already talked to a lady at the sandy branch who assured me this was not correct procedure. I felt the matter was taken care of and gave it no further thought.
Friday the 18 Easter weekend my wife was to cash her check and get on the hwy to meet myself and my 5 year old son at my mothers for a easter special involving all the children in our family. Not only did mountain america refuse to cash her check but they have put a message on our account stating we can not use this account for cashing checks. My wife ended up being Over an hour late because of this. And missed the first easter special Our son was in. I am including this information in the hopes someone will rember people are more than just numbers and acumulating Points. When We signed on With Mountain America they Stated they wanted to help us build our future.
But Apparently that means only when we have thousands of dollars in There bank. Its Very Sad that now this Bank wont even cash our paychecks.
I know the simple answer would be to go to another branch however this would mean taking off work an hour early each week it may only be $30 dollars loss
but this is the $30 That buys Happy Meals and Ice cream and a new Spounge bob toy for the worlds cutest little five year old red headed blue eyed boy!

Per credit union policy, in order to cash checks you would need to have like balances or lines of credit sufficient to cover the check amount.
After reviewing your email, it has come to my attention that we have been cashing checks on your account. Tellers should not be cashing checks, unless the above requirements are met.
To avoid having problems in the future, I suggest having your payroll directly deposited in your account. If your paycheck is directly deposited, the entire amount is available that day. Your employer should have the forms to get you set up on this convenient service.

Well This is A nice little blow off
as you have stated you have been cashing the checks and there has been no problem but I have a better suggestion than direct deposit Go to hell and take that nasty little window teller with the bad makeup job with you and quit acting like you are superior to other people. You people couldnt be nicer when those fat deposits were coming in.
I would hate to spend my life sucking up to people just because they have money. You Have lost my Account and i plan to take a few friends with me.
Your bank never said anything about this policy when we opened our account we are not trying to cash two party or personall checks these checks are from a finacial institute that Dwarfs yours and as stated you have been cashing them so whats the problem how much intrest can you loose on 5 or 6 hundred Dollars Most banks will call and confirm the amount if there is a concern we are like many americans who live paycheck to paycheck but if we cant cash them at our bank then who the hell needs you in case you havnt noticed there are a lot of things going wrong in the world right now times are tough and the last thing anyone needs is to find out there bank is ran by idiots. As far as your apology tell it to my 5 year old who wants to know why mommy didnt hear him sing. He doesnt understand mine that mommys bank wouldnt cash her check On the friday night before Easter and she had to drive around to find some caring Grocery store to do what are bank takes money from us to do.
