Looking for help, The following is of my own opinions.
I received my Home Depot credit card statement in the mail today and surprise... My interest rate went from 23.17 to 49.39. No that is not a typo, 49.39%.
Instantly I got on the phone with Home Depot. They informed me that there was a notice of this outlandish increase sent to me back in February 09, and that the supposed cancellation date had passed and that I was stuck with my lovely new rate.
You know that I canceled the card. I need help knowing my rights. I don't want to take this lying down. I'm outraged, this is not right. How can any one in the US get away with that kind of thievery? Yes, Home Depot THIEVERY!
If there is a Lawyer out there who has the stones to take on Home Depot and I "think" CITI bank, think BIG and contact me. I'm furious, and want compensation. Act fast, cause I will seek local counsel.
There is sarcasm in the preceding statement but the facts are the truth. I feel violated. The interest increase was not of my agreement, and is not what I agreed to. Can this constitute breach of contract on Home Depots part? Can they legally charge that much interest? Will they come break my legs if I don't pay? Please, some one give me some legal facts (for Missouri Laws).
