Charged rip off over draft rates for overcharges of 1.50 even though have direct deposit

Bank of America on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station has levied overdraft charges on as little as 1.50. Have direct deposit weekly. Have pleaded for overdraft privilidges as I have direct deposit weekly and it went on deaf ears. All my bills have fallen behind, cannot buy food as a consequence of these miserable charges. Please help me.
