I have been a Bank of America customer for years. I am a working class young christian man. I live paycheck to paycheck. I admit sometimes due to no fault than my own my account gets overdrawn.
BUT most of the time Bank of America charges my account overdraft charges in my opinion for the fun of it.
At one point I was so fed up with Bank of America I closed the account. I wrote a check for the remaining balance and made it out to the CEO of the company and mailed it the Corporate Office. A got a call from the CEO's secretary, I returned the call but nothing came of it.
I stupidly reopened the account for convenience matters. I need an account for my direct deposit.
My latest incident is a check I cashed for 40 cents with 43 cents in my account. Bank of America claims an electronic transaction tried to post the same day, was denied and incurred an overdraft charge.
Now, according to the numerous agents I've spoken to, Bank of America processes largest item to the smallest. OK BUT what about incidents were I no information of the electronic charge. I had the money in the account to pay the check I wrote.
So, far I have been charged $ 70.00 for a. 40 check.
The teller verified my balance before cashing the check and my checking account is in a NO PAY status. I have atleast 30 other times Bank of America has processed deposits after charges that came in the same day, so they could get more money out of me.
I have tried to file fruadulent charges with Bank of America but the agents I speak to tell me the charges were made and I can't tell them there fraud. Help. Sometimes I just feel like telling the Bank of America rep to go take the entire corporate office out to lunch on my account and then overdraft charge me for it. I have no protection.
