I recently deposited my GWBush check into my account. The following day the funds were listed as "Available Funds". At that time I transferred half to my joint account which I share with my wife, and withdrew $300 from my account for some spending. The following morning my account was in the red by $1000. I contacted the bank and was told that the check had both my wife's name and my name on it, but my account only had my name on it. So they reversed the deposit... Thus the funds were no longer available.
Point 1 - if they're not really "available"... Then don't say they are.
Point 2 - my wife endorsed the check
Point 3 - The same bank has an account with both our names on it... So stick it in there!
The corporate bank is telling me that they won't waive the overdraft fees, which should total around $250 when it is all said and done. They are hiding behind their "policies" to which they sent me links. Again I have to ask - why are they permitted to call the funds "available" if it's not yet verified that they are, in fact, available?
