Household Finance took advantage of my husband and I, as they knew we were first time home buyers. We have currently been trying to refinance our home to take advantage of the low interest rates. Household Finance is currently charging us 12%.in working with other lenders we have just discovered how bad our mortgage really is. They've basically screwed us coming and going. There are pre payment penalties on our mortgage for five years! This is ridiculous!
I have tried to work with Household on this matter many times and they flat out refuse to help us. My husband and I are struggling to make ends me for ourselves and our children and it's all because of our incredibly high mortgage interest and payments.
We also received a small loan in the amount of two thousand dollars from Household. When I spoke with the person on the phone they said the interest would be 24%. When we went into the office to sign the papers, the interest was at 32%. My husband and I immediately called attention to this. We were told it was a typo and that it would be changed right away. Well, the rate was never changed and the person denied even telling us that. We know what we heard.
I am at the end of my rope, and running out of options. If there is anyone who reads this that can help us, you have no idea how appreciative we would be. It may not be a big deal to Household but they are making it difficult for me to provide for my family and THAT IS A CRIME!!!
