My husband and I were contacted by Household about refinancing our exsisting mortgage. We were told that we would be getting cash back wich we needed to pay hospital bills.
I asked point blank several times if this cash back was considered a second mortgage and was assured each and every time that it wasn't.
The interest rate we were given is an outrageous 10%! The cash back was in fact a secong mortgage. Household now has us so upside down on our mortgage that we can't get a reputable bank to refinance for us at a reasonable rate.
Is there a service out there for people like us who pay bills on time but just got ripped off and mislead by a comapny who is not reputable?
